Eligibility for Membership

Design Trade Service is a to-the-trade program offered to industry professionals only. Business credentials must be presented to qualify (at least one of the following). These include:

  • Federal ID Number
  • State Resale Tax Certificate (must be provided prior to ordering)
  • Business License
  • Interior Design Degree Diploma

Design Trade Service does not sell to internet based re-sellers of consumer goods, or direct to consumers.

When you use the Design Trade Service website, you are automatically agreeing that both your access to the site and your use of it are:

Electronic Communications

When you visit the Design Trade Service website or send e-mails to us, you are communicating with us electronically. You consent to receive communications from us electronically. We will communicate with you by e-mail or by posting notices on this site. You agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications that we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.

Confidentiality

User login information and passwords are for the sole use of the member and MUST NOT be shared with anyone other than those directly employed by the member or their company. Violation of this policy will result in immediate cancellation of membership privileges.

Pricing Your Selection

Prices shown are Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) or Retail equivalent, and Designer NET. Your Designer NET price depends on your level of membership in Design Trade Service. Prices DO NOT include shipping or delivery charges. Standard shipping charges will be calculated once your selection has been added to your shopping cart. Availability

Your Design Trade Service customer service agent will provide you with an estimate of the approximate delivery time for your order. We will make every effort to notify you of any delays affecting your order. Fabric or leather shortages may occasionally result in delays. Orders for non-upholstered products are subject to vendor inventory, availability and production schedules. Once shipped, delivery times are subject to the carrier’s routes and schedules your order has been consigned to. Updates will be emailed to you as we receive them from the vendor and/or freight carrier. We will not, however, make price adjustments due to a delay in delivery.

Shipping & Delivery

Shipping costs (DTS Standard Shipping) as calculated at time of checkout are for orders that ship directly to your place of business or a third party receiver / delivery company. Designated "Ship To" addresses must be able to accommodate a transport truck. Our standard shippers will not deliver to a residence. Exceptions to this would be for items that are able to ship via Fedex or UPS as designated by the vendor. If you require White Glove Delivery directly to your client, notify us after placing your order. White Glove Delivery costs will be quoted to you and invoiced separately. You will be invoiced only for the difference between DTS Standard Shipping and White Glove Delivery Fees.

White Glove Delivery

Please be prepared to accept delivery of your special order when notified of shipping. You are expected to have your clients’ room/home ready to accept the shipment on the day delivery has been scheduled when the order has been designated for in-home delivery. Delivery personnel are not permitted to hang wall art or mirrors or to move furniture or electronic equipment already in your clients’ home.

You are responsible to ensure that products purchased will physically fit in the designated delivery area. Product unable to be delivered because of physical dimensions exceeding the space designated for delivery cannot be returned. This would include restrictions in ceiling height, door width, staircase limitations, etc. that would prevent access to the designated delivery area.

Deliveries requiring rescheduling because of client no-show, not home, day of delivery cancellation, etc. will incur additional fees. Deliveries held by the Delivery Company for more than thirty days from time of receiving may be subject to storage fees.

PLEASE NOTE: Ensure that all products received by your third party delivery company, or those delivered by White Glove Residential delivery are thoroughly inspected at time of delivery. Products signed for as received complete and in good condition are not subject to freight or damage claims and are the responsibility of the receiving party.

Orders & Payments

On-Line Orders

Payment is due in full at time of order.  Orders paid by Credit Card will be processed immediately. PLEASE NOTE: Credit card payments must be made using a card belonging to you or your company. Payments cannot be made using a client's credit card. Orders indicating payment by check will be held until the check has been received and has cleared payment.   Design Trade Service  will email you an order confirmation including all applicable charges for shipping and delivery. Delivery charges indicated on your acknowledgment are for delivery to your business or a designated receiver provided that address can accommodate a transport truck. White Glove delivery can be arranged on a case by case basis and any freight charges showing on your order will be applied to those charges.  You will be required to acknowledge the DTS Terms & Conditions before completing your purchase.

Emailed & Phone-In Orders

Payment is due in full at time of order.  Orders paid by Credit Card will be processed immediately. PLEASE NOTE: Credit card payments must be made using a card belonging to you or your company. Payments cannot be made using a client's credit card. Orders indicating payment by check will be held until the check has been received and has cleared payment.  Design Trade Service  will email you an order confirmation including all applicable charges for shipping and delivery. Delivery charges indicated on your acknowledgment are for delivery to your business or a designated receiver provided that address can accommodate a transport truck unless White Glove residential delivery has been pre-arranged with a DTS customer service agent. These charges will be added to your order total. A Credit Card Authorization form will be emailed to you for completion and signature. Orders will not be placed until this form has been received. This form also states that you agree and accept the DTS Terms & Conditions. 

Membership Orders & Upgrades

Members who select or upgrade to the PRO Level membership will be billed on a recurring subscription basis in the amount of $29.95 per month every month on the date the selection was made.  Annual PRO memberships will be billed in the amount of $299 and will renew on the anniversary date of the memberhsip.  Membership may be cancelled at any time by logging into your account and updating your subscription. Refunds will not be made for previous months paid membership.

Changes / Cancellations

Items ordered may be changed or cancelled within 24 hours of the time of the order without penalty. In the event a change or cancellation after this 24 hour period (but no more than 72 hours from time of order) is desired, contact a DTS Customer Service to determine the status of your particular order. In the event your order has already shipped or the sourcing vendor has already prepared your order for shipping, no cancellations or changes will be accepted.

Returns

Merchandise is not returnable. Exceptions to this policy would include items received in error because of vendor mistakes or items damaged during shipping that cannot be repaired. Items received in error due to incorrect specifications on the part of the designer at time of order cannot be returned. Items found to be unacceptable on the part of your client where no damage or errors exist cannot be returned. You are responsible to ensure that products purchased will physically fit in the designated delivery area.  Product unable to be delivered because of physical dimensions exceeding the space designated for delivery cannot be returned. This would include restrictions in ceiling height, door width, staircase limitations, etc. that would prevent access to the designated delivery area.

Damage

In the event of damage, you are required to notify the Design Trade Service administrative office within 24 hrs. of receipt of product. Design Trade Service through its delivery agent will determine if the product is repairable. If the product damage is not repairable, replacement item(s) will be ordered. In the event you wish to cancel the order due to damage that cannot be repaired, your account will be credited for the order price including freight. PLEASE NOTE: Ensure that all products received by your third party delivery company, or those delivered by White Glove Residential delivery are thoroughly inspected at time of delivery. Products signed for as received complete and in good condition are not subject to freight or damage claims and are the responsibility of the receiving party.
